Isn’t it a pain when you have to open and close your CD drive when you already have a CD in it you want to use? There is a better way. All you do is create shortcuts to your drives in the quick launch toolbar.
First, double click the “My Computer” icon on your desktop to open it. Then click and drag each CD drive to the quick launch area on the taskbar. (If the quick launch is not displayed, right click the taskbar. In the menu that is displayed open the “Toolbars” pop-out and make sure “Quick Launch” is checked.)
After you have the shortcuts in the quick Launch area, right click them and select “Rename.” Give each shortcut an appropriate name, for example, DVD, CD-ROM, CD-RW, etc.
Now if you have any CD in the drive its icon will be displayed for the shortcut and you can click the icon to either autorun, or listen to the music. Much easier than waiting for the drive to open and close again.
