File Paths in OpenOffice

Ever wonder where OpenOffice is storing your important files, like the AutoCorrect file that contains all your customized settings.
Or how about your gallery information… after all, you’ve added some to that too.
Then there’s your location for template storage and the AutoText file with all your customizations.
You may just want to know where these are kept – you never know when you’ll need to back them up or move them to another computer.
Fortunately, there’s a very quick and easy way to locate these files… you just have to know where to look.
To find the information, we will start in the Tools menu, Options choice.
On the left, in the OpenOffice.org section, choose Path.
On the right, you’ll see a list of paths to each type of file.
With that information, you can copy or backup any of it that you may need, and you will no longer need to ask, “Where are my files?”
