I have never known anyone who uses it to modify a document. There are much more efficient ways. In my view, the insert key should be eliminated from keyboards, and replaced with another function which would be more practical. When the insert key is accicentally touched, it starts to delete text which one does not want to delete, which happened to me and others, and confused and frightened us until we managed to figure out what we had inadvertently done.
