I don’t know about you, but when I’m doing research on the Internet the last thing I want to do is have to scan en entire page of nonsense when I can just hit a shortcut key and search for a keyword.
Yeah, yeah – we all know the drill: Hit Ctrl-F and type in your query…
But did you know that Firefox offers an even quicker way to search for something on a page? Seriously! Just hit, the / key on your keyboard (located just to the left of the Shift key) and start typing!
You’ll find that word in no time!
Handy!

Thanks a bunch! This is great.
This is a great time saver for me. I scan pages and pages of newspaper articles looking for a particular name. I know I can use the “Find” but your tip is much quicker
I like the tip.
I tried it and my computer (HP Pavilion dv7 laptop) has a statement next to the ‘Links Only.;
I typed a single word and reply was “phrase not found.”
This is just a remark, but I was interested in the difference and thought I would comment on it.
Any thoughts?
Awesome tip! This is a tip I didn’t already know and I will definitely be using a lot! Thank you for all of the wonderful tips you pass along!
There’s no need to hit the slash [/] key. The Quick Find box opens as soon as the first letter of a search is entered.
