One thing that has been overlooked in the Word Processing game is a good font viewer/manager. You know, just something that can help you to view your current fonts, install new ones and then compare them until you are absolutely sure about your choice. Fonts can really help set a tone and a theme for a document and finding the right font for the job can mean everything. Around here for instance, I use nothing but Ariel and New Times Roman. And let me tell you, that’s about as exciting as talcum powder, so it’s nice to let my hair down and use some zany unorthodox fonts. I know, I know, I’m a wild man. I just can’t hold it in!

All kidding aside, I do like to use other fonts and it’s a must if you are making a flyer or want to use something that helps to add to the theme of a particular document. Whatever the reason, if you find yourself exploring your fontual boundaries from time to time, then today’s program could be the tool for you.

FontPage is a unique little creature that allows the user to perform different procedures in regards to the fonts in their system.

Here are just some of the things you get with FontPage:

  • Rich and easy interface

  • Examines and compares all of the fonts on your system
  • View any typeface in bold, italic, underline and 3D styles
  • Print a specimen page for any font or print a list of them
  • Fonts list printing with adjustable size and string option
  • Fonts listing selectable by font types
  • Character Table with copy to Clipboard and print options
  • Compare Window with two displays and user input box

  • Extra Preview Window for uninstalled fonts
  • Slide Show Function (to show fonts automatically with a user defined interval)
  • List function (to create a list with TTF’s and their font names)
  • Adjustable color settings in main display
  • Support for Visual Styles (for Windows XP)
  • Font specific Help File on board

So, there you go. It’s a cool little tool from It’s nothing real fancy, but it’s something I know I will use. So, keep those fonts under control with FontPage and always have the right font for the job!

Windows 98/NT/ME/2000/XP/2003
