For the Mechanic who has Everything

Tuesday, January 17th, 2012 by | Filed Under: In The News

CES – a time for joy in the tech realm, and coincidentally not too far off in date from the Detroit Auto Show, either. Craftsman tools, the big name in tools and tool storage, had a little surprise at CES for handymen, mechanics and other tech-minded tool-collectors out there.

It’s the Craftsman Bluetooth-Enabled Tool Cabinet.

Not only does it give you all the space you’d ever need for wrenches, screwdrivers, bits and baubles, but it also has two built-in 220W speakers that connect via Bluetooth to your music player or phone. That means no more greasy hands on expensive smartphones, and no more unearthing yourself from underneath the car every time you get a phone call, either. Oh, and you can rock out to Foreigner’s Greatest Hits, too!

No price has been announced yet, but expect to see the Craftsman Bluetooth-Enabled Tool Cabinet hitting and Sears (as long as they’re still around), sometime in the second quarter.

Almost the dumbest thing I’ve seem. What a waste!

This isn’t a tip, this is an advertisement. Please don’t contaminate your newsletter with stuff like this. Particularly for those of us who pay for a Premium subscription, this is not what we’re paying for. If you need to subsidize your free newsletter with ads, that’s fine, but to advertise a tool chest — just because it’s Bluetooth enabled — and to call it a computing tip — come on, Steve. Your subscribers aren’t stupid. With all due respect, it’s a bit insulting to all of us to pretend that this is a computing tip. Please reconsider your position on things like this in the future — particularly for Premium subscribers. Thank you for your consideration.

Robert, Worldstart has absolutely no affiliation with Craftsman tools, so therefore we have no reason to endorse their products. I simply thought the idea was neat and wanted to share it with everyone. Keep in mind, Worldstart is expanding their scope to include all sorts of technology – not just PC-related computer tips, so you’ll be seeing stuff like this every once in awhile along with expanded coverage on iOS, Android, Blu-Ray Players, HD TVs and more.

I never had the money for things like Blue Ray or Blue Tooth — amd happy for those who can and do. The Cabinet seems an extraordinary great idea for those still surviving in the middle class, nevertheless.
