Free Cycle [1]

“One rule: everything posted must be free. Whether it’s a chair, a fax machine, piano, or an old door to be given away, it can be posted on the network. Or, maybe you’re looking to acquire something yourself?”

“Respond to the posting directly and you just might get it. After that it is up to the giver to set up a pickup time for passing on the treasure.”

“Non-profit organizations also benefit from the Freecycle Network. Post the item or items you want to give away and a local organization can help you get it to someone in need.”

Basically what happens is that you can donate an item at no charge and someone can get it for free, or if you are looking to acquire something you can check out the Freecycle in your area. This is a very neat idea, like going to a garage sale only it’s free!

Why don’t you see if there is a free cycle in your area? Just choose the area you live and it will give you specific listings for your area. This is even an international organization. So those of you who aren’t from the U.S. can participate too, click International, and then choose your area. If there isn’t one near you, perhaps you could start one. A great community project!
