Galaxy S3 Multi-Window

Those sporting a Samsung Galaxy S3 on Verizon’s network might want to check for updates (Settings icon>About phone>Software update). The data giant recently rolled out a whopping 129mb (make sure you’re on a wireless network, huh?) download that issues several big fixes, tweaks, and an exciting Multi window feature, which allows users to keep two active apps open on the same screen.

There’s more [1], but Multi window is too cool not to share now, so here’s how to turn it on:

After the software update, the Multi-window feature is enabled by default, but just in case it doesn’t show up right away, tap the Settings icon>Display, and make sure Multi window is checked.

Now, go back to your home screen and you should notice a gray circle on the left-hand side of your screen.*

Drag the circle out, and you’ll see a list of Multi window supported apps (you can tap, hold and drag to arrange their order, or add supported apps to it by tapping Edit at the bottom).

Now, just tap, hold and drag the apps you want to use to the right, and you’re multi-tasking like a pro!

Note: you can re-size the windows using the bar in the middle.

*If not, you may want to head back into the display settings and toggle the Multi window off, then on again, or even restart your phone – I had to.
