I love automobiles. I used to dream of restoring cars and trucks when I was a little girl. This was probably influenced by the car sitting in my grandfather’s garage circa the 1940s, covered by a pristine white sheet. So, when I stumbled across this site, where I could see photos of many, many trucks, I was quite happy.
Now, you’re not going to be seeing any passenger trucks. They are all meaty truck cabs and their trailers. Just scroll down the page and you will see that they are divided by manufacturer and also by collections.
If you scroll all the way down the page, you’ll be amazed (if not wowed) by how many different collections there are of photographs. Even better, some of them encompass many years. I really loved the collections with the vintage photographs, which makes the idea that trucking has been a way of life and a job for longer than we realize.
You can also find a link near the top of the page that will let you listen to a clip of a truck’s engine, as well as, a link to the American Truck Historical Society.
Just on the sheer size of this collection, this site is noteworthy. Then, if you add in the vintages that you can see here, it is even more outstanding!
