Help! I Can’t Watch My Videos In Windows 10

Lori is having a browser issue.   “I updated my Windows 7 to Windows 10 which went to chromium.  Since then I have not been able to upload website videos or listen to my bible studies on chromium.  I have to sign out and go into my old google to make them work.  Can you help?”

Lori, I’m not sure what you mean by “chromium.”  Are you using the Chromium open-source browser? That’s not a part of Windows 10. It would have needed to be downloaded or installed separately and is usually something only used by the very tech-savvy. It is the source code from which the Google Chrome Browser operates.

When you  say you want your old Google back, do you mean Google Chrome? If you were using Google Chrome before, it’s till there on your PC.  Just type it in your search box.  The result will look like this.

Click on it to open. It’s possible that Flash may be disabled in Chrome and that’s why your videos won’t play.

To enable flash, open your Chrome browser and type chrome://plugins in the address bar and press Enter.

Scroll down. If Flash is disabled, make sure to click Enable.

Is it possible you’re using the Microsoft Edge browser? That is a new feature of Windows 10. The icon to open it looks like this.  Your videos may not yet be compatible with Edge.

There’s also the possibility that you were using Internet Explorer to open videos before and perhaps had Google as home page?  If that’s the case, Internet Explorer is still there on your PC.

Just type Internet Explorer in the search box on your Start Menu. Then click on the result. Or tell Cortanta “Open Internet Explorer.”

I hope one of these solutions helps.
