Help! Programs Missing From Start Menu

Question: When I bring up my start menu, I don’t see my list of programs, like my word processor. Everything is gone, how do I get my word processor on the list, as well as my other programs that I use frequently?
Answer: You don’t say which version of Windows you’re using, but for Windows 7 and Vista, it’s a pretty easy fix. Right-click on the icon for the program you want in your Start Menu and select “Pin to Start Menu.”
I would also suggest right-clicking on the Start Menu and selecting “Properties.”
You’ll get the window below. Check and make sure that you’ve selected “Store and display recently opened programs in the Start Menu,” if you want your recently used items to appear automatically.
Hope this helps.
