Hide Menus in Powerpoint

Show Them No Menus

How many times have you found yourself using a PowerPoint presentation and in the middle you accidentally hit the right mouse button?

I don’t know about you but the resulting menu does not exactly make my day nor does it give the smooth impression of a well-put together presentation.

In my opinion, and I know there are lots out there who do not agree, but the right-click menu is annoying. I never actually mean to use it, the only time I see it is on accident and it’s not a “happy accident”.

So, the question logically becomes… do I have to live with the situation, or can I change PowerPoint’s behavior?

Fortunately, the answers are no (I don’t have to live with it), and yes (it can be turned off).

Let’s get right to business.

People with older versions of PowerPoint will need to use:

  • Tools menu
  • Options choice
  • View tab
  • Slide show section
  • Popup menu on right mouse click” option

If you’re using PowerPoint 2007 then you’ll need:

  • The Office Button
  • PowerPoint Options button
  • Advanced category
  • Slide Show section
  • Show menu on right mouse click” option

Now that everyone has located the correct option uncheck it and click OK.

Voila! No more accidental menus during your presentation, even if you do accidentally bump the right mouse button.

Yeah :)
