Holiday Tech Guide Part 5 – Video Games

There are several video game options for some fantastic fun offered this year that offer unique twists on gaming.

First, how about recording those amazing moments with the HD PVR Rocket first portable game recorder for Xbox360, XboxOne, Plastation3, PS4, WiiU and PC gameplay. This HD wonder works for PC and Mac.

 

Sony has the PlayStation 4 console ($399) with more than 25 game titles at launch priced around $60 including exclusives like the platformer Knack, Killzone Shadow Fall, Resogun, Blacklight: Retribution and Wireframe.The PlayStation 4 also offers a special remote play feature (using Wi-Fi) with the handheld PlayStation Vita console.

 

Microsoft has the Xbox One ($499) black 500 GB console, wireless controller, Kinect sensor, and wired chat communicator with exclusive games like Xbox Fitness, Ryse Son of Rome, Forza Motorsport 5 and Dead Rising 3.

 

Nintendo’s Wii U “next generation” console features several exclusive games like Pikmin 3, Luigi U, LEGO City Undercover, The Wonderful 101, Wii Party U, Game & Wario and Super Mario 3D World. Hot Nintendo 3DS exclusives include Mario Party: Island Tour, The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds, Farm Sim 3DS, and Regular Show: Mordecai & Rigby in 8-Bit Land plus players can use the Tritton headset for the 3DS and Wii U.

 

Nintendo also expands the handheld console field further with the economical, flat formed Nintendo 2DS available in electric blue and crimson red. The 2DS can play all Nintendo 3DS games and most Nintendo DS games.

 

Players can rev up their engines with involving racing games like F1 2013, Needfor Speed Rivals, and the Wii U exclusive F1 Race Stars: Powered Up Edition (download through Nintendo eShop only), which uses the GamePad as a steering wheel.

 

Disney Infinity will definitely be one of the hottest holiday games because of the multiple console choices and collectible figures that also get into the game (like the Frozen Toy Box Set) when placed on the special pad along with set pieces and various discs.

 

Numerous video game choices on multiple consoles include Batman Arkham Origins (Blackgate on PSVita and 3DS), Duck Tales Remastered, NARUTO Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja 3, Zumba Fitness World Party, Tomb Raider, Lost Planet 3, Dragon’s Crown, and Splinter Cell: Blacklist.

 The Rocksmith 2014 video game lets players have fun while actually learning how to play various guitars. Great sports games include NBA Live 14, FIFA 14 (soccer), NCAA Football 14 and the special anniversary Madden NFL 25.

 

PC/Mac games can enjoy several new The Sims 3 expansion packs (Into the Future, Island Paradise) and stuff packs (Movie). Mobile gamers can get a better experience by using the Moga Hero Power controller and Moga Pro Power Android controller.
