Ken has a questions about adding contacts to his phone. He writes: “I have a Samsung Galaxy S4. I need to know how to edit, add, and delete telephone entries on my phone.”
Ken, by “entries,” I will assume you mean contacts and it’s a fairly simple procedure. First tap the icon for the phone app. Even though smartphones are called phones, they are really just small tablets with a SIM card and an app that lets you make phone calls.
The dialer screen will open.
In the upper-right of that screen, tap the Contacts icon.
If you have contacts, you’ll see them listed alphabetically.
To add a contact, just click the +icon in the lower-right of the screen.
From here you can add the contact information and also assign contacts to groups or give that person a special ringtone. Make sure to hit Save when you are finished.
To edit a contact, just tap that person’s name.
When the contact opens tap the pencil icon in the upper-right of the page to edit. Then make any necessary changes.
Another way to add someone to your contacts is to tap Recent calls.
Then tap the number you wish to add. You’ll have the option to create a new contact for that number or update an existing contact with that number.
