Microsoft Publisher files can be hard to handle for some people, they don’t want to open in anything but Publisher. So, like this reader, people find themselves stuck with a bunch of files they can’t use.
I created a large number of files using MS Publisher 2000 on my old XP system. Unfortunately, the Publisher 2000 files are not compatible with my HP Windows 64 Bit Professional Operating System nor my HP 6700 printer with Windows 7 drivers. Is there a program that is functionally compatible with my Windows 64 bit system and printer and MS Publisher 2000 files. I have numerous files (line drawings & text) that I cannot print out nor create new ones. Thank you for any help or suggestions.
Have you tried opening the files in a current version of Microsoft Publisher? You may be able to open them and then perform a Save As and select Publisher Files as the format. This can help with some older files.
You might also want to check out LibreOffice. Some people report success opening Publisher Files with the program and since it’s free – it won’t cost you anything to try.
