Carl from Henderson, Nevada asks: How do I ADD a password in W7 that is required when I turn on my computer?
Answer: A password is always a good idea. Here’s how to set one up. Go to the Start Menu and select Control Panel.
Then choose User Accounts and Family Safety.
Pick Change Your Windows Password.
Click on Create a password for your account.
Then type in your preferred password and confirm it.
If you’d like an extra level of security – you can lock your screen saver with a password, so that if you leave your computer on, it will lock after a period of time. You go to the Control Panel and type screen saver in the search box.
Now you’ll have the option to require a password when logging back on to the computer after the screensaver has turned on. You can also adjust when the screensaver turns on and select a screensaver in this window.
Hope this helps.
