Is there any way in which to get Gmail listed in Windows 7 so it may be selected as the default mail programme?

Answer – Yes and No. Since Gmail isn’t actually installed on your computer (you access it via the Internet), it won’t be listed an option in Windows as your default mail program. However, you can download Gmail Notifier from Google here ^[1].

1. Right-click the Notifier icon in your system tray, and select Options.
2. Check the box next to Use Gmail for internet mailto: links.
3. Click OK.

Now, when you click on a hyper-linked e-mail address, you’ll get the Gmail window.
