How Do I Save Works Files For Word?
Posted By cynthia On February 19, 2013 @ 11:00 AM In MS Office Help,MS Word | 3 Comments
Question: I have all my bids and statements on MS Works, but when I send them, some companies can’t open them. They tell me to send on MS Word. I have that, but how do I copy the form from Works to Word?
Thanks, Don

Don, if you have Works 6.0, 7.0, 8.0 or 9.0 you should be able to save the file as a Word document. Open the Works document and under “File,” click “Save as.” Change the “Save In” box to select the location where you want to save your new Word Document.
In the “File name” box type the name you wish to call your new Word file. In the “Save as” box, select Word 97-2000 & 6.0/95 – RTF (*.doc), and then click save. If you are using Works 8.0, make sure to choose Word 97-2003 (*.doc) in the “Save as type” box.

Your new documents should now open in Word. Hope this helps.
