The Good Adwords Keyword tool is a free search engine optimization tool (SEO) that allows you to analyze keywords to find which are the most profitable. The Google keyword tool is made primarily for Advertisers and content publishers. The following information shows how to use the Google Adwords Tool to find the most lucrative keywords.
Go to the Google Adwords Keyword Tool page. Type a keyword phrase into the search box and click “Search.”
Go to the right side of the screen and click “Customize Column” and enable “Estimated Avg. CPC.” CPC means the average cost per click. In other words, it is the amount money that the advertisers are willing to offer the publishers when someone clicks on the advertisements. If you are a publisher, it is in your best interest use the keywords with the highest average cost per click.
Go to “Match Types” and select “Exact” and disable “Broad.” This will show you the exact amount of times the keyword is being searched online. This is important because it will help you pinpoint precisely which keywords are getting the most traffic.
Analyze the “Adwords” competition of the keywords. The competition shown in the Google Adwords tool is meant for Advertisers, not for the actual SEO competition of the keyword. The “competition” shown in the Google Adwords Keyword tool stands for the amount of advertisers competing for a specific keyword. If you are publisher, it is best to use keywords with high advertising competition. If you are an advertiser, it is best to use keywords with low advertising competition.
Extract keywords from other websites. Do you ever wonder what sort of keywords your competitors are using? You can use the Google Adwords Keyword tool to find out. Get the side address and paste it into the keyword tool and click “Search.” This will show you a list of keywords the competing Web site uses.
Use keywords with search volumes. The higher the search volume, the more traffic you can get out of that keyword. However, it is more important to choose keywords with low SEO competition first (see reference 1).
