Ice Storm Pictures [1]

Having just been through an ice storm, I decided to look for images of ice storms. I found this site in my search. They’re images of the ice storm that hit Paducah, Kentucky in 2009.

Navigation is easy. Just scroll down the page and you’ll be able to check out all the images that they’ve posted about the ice storm.

During our ice storm, my roommate and I heard this loud crashing sound. We thought part of our roof had caved in under the sheet of ice that was covering everything. It turned out to be a tree collapsing in the backyard of the neighbor behind us. It was amazing that the wind and ice had managed to knock it down!

Then I took a look at these pictures and it’s amazing to me how destructive ice can be! There’s a downed phone pole, branches, and trees.

Another thing I noticed in our storm was how many icicles were hanging from our power lines. They looked very pretty illuminated by the street lights but I bet the people who lost power didn’t think they were very pretty. You’ll find images here of icicles on the power lines too and the power company trying to get them off.

These images are really fantastic and eye opening. I hope you’ll check them out!
