If I Remove Browsers, Can I Keep XP?
Posted By cynthia On March 10, 2014 @ 8:53 AM In Quick Tips | 3 Comments
I’m another XP Professional user and have a Windows 8 laptop also. If I take the internet browsers off my XP — can I still use it for Photos (including using Paint), Music (including the Media Player), and Documents (including Word). Here’s hoping!
As long as your computer is not connected to the Internet, you should be all right. Microsoft will cease security support for Windows XP on April 8, 2014 and after that date, you just can’t guarantee the safety of XP online. But no e-mails, no updates, no downloads, no nuthin online, okay? Downloading photos from a camera should be fine, but be wary of things that come from other sources.
You don’t want to accidentally transfer a virus to your XP computer from another source. But for creating documents that you plant to print and listening to music, it should be fine.
