Another day, another social media celebrity death hoax. But if you fell for this click-bait, you need to change your password ASAP. Here’s the scam story that turned up on Facebook.
Click it and you’ll be directed to click an OK button to go to another site to view the story.
Click it, and you’ll be downloading malware onto your PC or mobile device that’s capable of stealing your information. So don’t click. If you have clicked this link (or one for any of the other celebrity death hoaxes that have been going around), you need to do a security scan on your PC and mobile devices and then change the passwords for Facebook and all of your other accounts. Run the scan first, because if you don’t remove the malware, it can just detect your new passwords as you type them in.
