This is another exciting chapter of “Tech Writer, Heal Thyself.” The ongoing adventures of a someone who doesn’t take her own advice.
In this case, my mistake was not bringing along a backup battery to an event where my phone played an important role. I had a book signing and reading for a mystery novel I wrote. (Windows 10 isn’t the only mystery I solve) I had planned to broadcast the book signing on Facebook Live as well as have my husband use my phone to post photographs of the even to my social media accounts.
Sounds like a plan! Except for that about seven seconds into the reading my phone died. I’ve been having some battery issues with the old girl lately where she’s going from like 80% charged to nothing in no time flat. I suppose my husband could have used his phone, had it not died as well.
Well, darn. The worst part is that I already own a great backup battery. I just didn’t bring it with me. He could have easily plugged my phone into the easily portable backup battery and we would have had no problem. Lesson learned. Next time I need to depend on my phone in a situation like that, I’m plugging it right into the backup battery.
