It seems like there is a social media site for just about everything these days. So why not for health information, medical questions, and the community of patients who have questions and are looking for information? Well there is a site just for that, iMedix brings you a community of users who are seeking health information from fellow patients and families of patients for free.

On the main page you’ll find featured support groups, featured topics, a Q & A section, as well as a search field so that you can look up whatever information you’re looking for.

I’d recommend that you click Take the iMedix Tour because it walks you through everything you need to know about the site from asking a question to searching for health articles. Remember that this information should not replace you or your family members seeking a medical professional, but it is nice to be able to research illnesses and talk to people who have been through or know a family member who has been through the same experience.

Registering for an account is easy. Just click the Sign Up link at the right of the page, then fill in the form with a working e-mail address, create a password and nickname, and then agree to the terms and conditions. Next, you’ll click the blue Sign Up button at the bottom of the form. You can now sign in with the information you provided and use all the features of the site.

I really like the idea of this community. If you’ve ever had a loved one who has a serious illness, in my case my mom who had breast cancer, it is really nice to have a community that you can interact with. You can ask them questions, and just lean on each other for support.
