Do you find yourself using Mozilla Firefox more frequently than your old standby, Internet Explorer? Is it a hassle to toggle between the two browsers but you continue to do it because you’ve got a long list of Favorites in IE?
How would you like to simplify your browsing experience by transferring your IE favorites to Firefox?
Or maybe you’re an Internet Explorer fan. What if you’d like to do the reverse and transfer all your Firefox bookmarks to IE? Is this possible?
With just a few simple steps, you can convert your IE Favorites to Firefox or vice versa. Here’s how.
1. To transfer IE Favorites to Firefox Bookmarks:
Go to File > Import.
In the Import Wizard window, select Microsoft Internet Explorer.
Select which items to import: Internet Options, Cookies, Browsing History, and/or Favorites.
You’ll see a window that says, “The following items were successfully imported.”
Congratulations! Your IE favorites have been imported.
Now here’s how to access them in Firefox.
Go to Bookmarks > From Internet Explorer.
Voila! A roll out menu will list all your old IE favorites.
If you continue to add favorites to IE, you can update the Firefox bookmarks by repeating the steps above.
2. To transfer Firefox Bookmarks to IE Favorites:
Launch Internet Explorer.
Go to File > Import and Export
Select Import from another browser.
The next window will say, “Select a browser from which to import favorites and feeds.”
A new window will appear: “These settings were imported successfully.”
To find your Firefox bookmarks in Internet Explorer, go to Favorites.
Scroll down to the Mozilla Firefox folder. A roll out menu will appear with all of your bookmarks.
You’re all set!
