Your Weekly Update In The World Of Technology
Live From The International CES 2013!
Straight from Las Vegas, Nevada, it’s the International Consumer Electronics Show 2013 – one of the world’s largest technology and electronics shows in the world. Every year some of the biggest names in technology introduce brand new products and innovations. This year was no different as we saw new items primed and ready for the consumer market.
It would be impossible to go over everything shown at CES this year, but there were definitely some shining moments. This year really focused on items such as new 4K/Ultra HD televisions, Gorilla Glass 3, “smart” appliances and entire home networking, and a rise in touchscreen monitors, just to name a few.
Probably the most exciting consumer electronics displayed, and definitely the ones that were pushed the most, were 4k/Ultra HD televisions. Most televisions today are shown at “full HD” or 1080p. That equates to 1080 lines (or pixels) worth of data shown vertically with the full resolution being around 2.1 megapixels. 4k/Ultra HD televisions aim to be 4 times that amount. In order to be considered Ultra HD, a television must have a resolution of at least 3,840 × 2,160 pixels – or nearly 8.3 megapixels. From a personal standpoint, these items were truly the “Wow” at the show. We’ll have even more details involving brand new television technology, including Ultra HD, in an article next week.
Be sure to stick with us as we give new updates and details from CES in the coming week!
