Touch Office Apps Arrive In Windows 10

Touch-friendly versions of Office for iPads and Android have been around for some time, but users of Windows tablets have been left out until now.

Those running the Windows 10 Technical can now check out universal Office apps for Word, Excel and PowerPoint.  The apps can be found in the Windows Store Beta in the preview.  Also available for those running the technical preview is a preview version of Office 2016.

Verizon Cuts & Raises Data Plan Costs

Verizon is cutting the cost of a data plan for some users, but raising the price for others.  Users of the More Everything plans with 1 -3 GB plans will get an extra GB at the same price.

At the same time, they company is raising the price of their $80 10GB monthly plan to $100 and adding 12GB-16GB plans prices between $110 and $130 monthly.

FCC Wants To Regulate Internet Access

The FCC wants to regulate Internet access like a public utility.  FCC Chairman Tom Wheeler says this would prevent carriers from slowing down connections for some content and benefit consumers, while critics say this type of move tends to kill innovation and investment.

Wheeler promises that the FCC would not use the power to add taxes or tariffs or set rate regulations for Internet service, but since the government takes those actions with other utilities, many feel it’s only a matter of time before restrictions are applied to the Internet.

Dear God do not let the FCC in on the internet. The only free as in free speech free communications there is. It sounds like conspiracy theorisms. But, and a big but. The Beaurocrats have no place throttling the internet. As soon as they claim control, all the hidden tax in your fone bill is due on the net. And think you may get some new fangled faster connect. It definitely will not happen until many congresspersons have been well payed off and the full time guys the beaurocracy has also had a healthy greasing up. The old time thieves running the show now do not want to rock the boat as in fibered as in what Google is doing, and Yahoo has made motions to follow up with. Internet a hundred times faster with the same speed up and down for less than what cable net costs now. Free for a one time device hookup fee at several times the data rate cable demands.

Hell no there will be no improvements from the office of the soup Nazi. Believe it. How is your mail service?

  2. William D Larson says:

The push to block the new net neutrality rules is being backed by the two biggest cable companies Comcast and Time Warner. They want to sell their fast lanes to the highest bidders and leaving the rest of us in the slow lanes. There claim that what they want is freedom is a ruse. What they want is monopolistic control. FCC regulations to prevent this is what net neutrality is all about. Follow the money, whose lobbyists are backing the opposition compared to those that are for it. Healthy capitalist economies are not laizze faire economies. Monopolies need to be controlled.

  3. Judy E Jeannerett says:

Oh, Yes, let the Government get their hands on another thing you can get for free, (if not on cable, etc).
They need their cut. They will find a way to get involved in anything.
