Selfie Sticks Not Welcome At Disney

You may have see “selfie” sticks, those long-handled phone holders intended to let you take a better shot of yourself with your phone. It seems a lot of people are using them trying to get just the right shot on rides in the Magic Kingdom. Now Disney is banning selfie sticks at their theme parks.

They won’t even let you bring them into the park now. Previously, the company only asked that you not use them on rides, but people didn’t pay much attention to that. Recently, a selfie stick jammed a roller coaster for an hour.

No Windows 10 – But RT Tablets Will Get An Update

Windows RT tablets will be getting an update around the on the Windows 10 upgrade, but they won’t be eligible to upgrade to Windows 10.

It’s hoped that this update may allow RT users to access some of the same features as Windows 10, though Microsoft hasn’t said which ones.

Most Businesses Plan To Update To Windows 10

According to a new survey, nearly 75% of businesses say they plan to update to Windows 10 in the next couple of years. If so, it would be a remarkable turnaround from the adoption rates of Windows 7 and Windows 8.

Many organizations (including the U.S. Navy) are still running Windows XP despite the end of security support in 2014.

While the Windows 10 upgrade is free for home users running Windows 7, 8 and 8.1, it is not free for businesses.

I work for the US Navy, and I want to confirm this. My organization didn’t change from NT 4.0 until microsoft announced it was abandoning XP, and we are still using XP today. We have a contractor that “takes care of it” for us, and our IT people are forever loading some kind of “updates”, but unlike in days of yor, our onboard techs are not given any administrative priviledges.
