Facebook To Tackle Game Invites

Facebook boss Mark Zuckerberg says the company plans to tackle an issue that’s been annoying a lot of Facebook users: unwanted game invites.

He admitted the company has been slow to get around to dealing with the issue and said that he’d instructed the person in charge of Facebook’s developer platform to find a solution.

These invites can often come with rewards that are important to people who do want to play the game, but as more and more gamers have moved on to mobile games played on their phone or tablet, games are less financially important to Facebook. Some are speculating the social network may drop game invites all together, but Zuckerberg hasn’t specified what he has in mind.

Apple Profits Good Despite Slowing iPhone Sales

iPhone sale may be slowing a bit, but they are still good enough to make a tidy profit for Apple.  They sold close to 50 million iPhones in the last quarter, which some analysts thought was disappointing. There was also a sharp drop in iPad sales, down almost 20% from last year.

But that didn’t stop the company from earning $11.1 billion dollars in profit for the quarter and a record-breaking $53.4 billion in income for the fiscal year.  A lot of that income is attributed to strong sales in China.

Nintendo Introduces Its First Smartphone Game

More proof that gaming is moving towards mobile platforms: Nintendo has its very first smartphone app.  The free app is called Miitomo and will be available for Android and iPhone.

Nintendo has been a holdout when it comes to mobile gaming, but apparently has seen which way the wind is blowing. While the game is free to download, it does allow in-app purchases. The company is also following in the footsteps of its rivals and has announced My  Nintendo. This service will connect users across their various devices and allow them to play games and transfer their data.
