Instagram Changes Privacy Policy

Instagram is making changes to its privacy policy and terms of service. The popular social photo-sharing site says these changes are necessary to function more easily as a part of its parent company, Facebook. Instagram will now share more user information with Facebook.

In a posting on their website, Instagram promised that ownership and privacy of your photos would remain unchanged and emphasized that the changes were to protect users while fighting spam. These terms do not include the permissions for the company to use photos in advertising that caused an angry outcry from users when they were announced back in December. The new rules go into effect on January 19.
