I have some really old Solitaire and Mahjong programs I got from you. I have newer computers that run Vista and Windows 7. Can I install these on the new machines? Will they work?
I’m really glad you asked this, because it allows me to make a point. While I cannot give you a definitive answer, I can say go ahead and try it. The worst that will happen? You’ll find out it won’t work. You may have an error message pop up on the screen, but that error will only be in regards to this program.
Using an older program may also pop up with a compatibility warning, especially in Windows 7 or 8. I’d suggest go ahead and try to “Run the program without getting help”. It may just work, or if it doesn’t, run it using Compatibility mode.
Believe it or not, it’s not all that easy to really mess up a computer, especially when installing a program. So for those of you out there who are scared to try your own thing, I say just go ahead and do it! If you get a new program, play with it, click around, see what you can figure out on your own – you’re not very likely to “break” it.
