JFK 50 Years

I found this courtesy of a reader, and I’m glad they shared it with me so I could pass it onto you. The site is JFK 50 Years and looks back at when President  John F. Kennedy took office in 1961.

Warning: This site has sound and video as soon as you load it, so it might not be the best option to view at work. You can quickly turn it off by skipping the intro video and clicking the speaker button just beneath the Home menu.

Navigation is easy. The site is divided up into the following categories: Public Service, Science & Innovation, Civil Rights, Domestic Affairs, The Arts, Foreign Policy & Diplomacy, and  The Environment. Just click on the section you want to explore to dive right in.

In the top right corner of the page you’ll find the Home menu, where you’ll be able to access the section HistoryNow where you’ll be able to check out a nifty timeline and look at history facts that line up with today’s date. Next up is the Legacy Gallery where you can find video clips from all of the different categories listed above. And last but not least is the Downloads and Resources section where you’ll find that you have the ability to create your own exhibit with digital artifacts and resources from the JFK Presidential Library and Museum – the video that loads will explain how it all works!

This site provides a great look back at the history and legacy left by JFK. Check it out today!
