If the Program will not accept the serial number, you may need to download the newest version of the program from the company's web site.
Go to www.iolo.com and click on the free trials tab. Download and install the free trial of system mechanic. During the installation, you will be asked if you own a serial number. Choose yes.
Enter the serial number that you received from us and continue with the installation. This should install the program for you.

Issues such as these are usually caused by conflicts that may have happened during the installation.
To fix these issues, you should uninstall system mechanic 7 then reinstall in clean boot mode.
First, uninstall system mechanic through your add/remove programs menu on your control panel.
Next, start your system in clean boot mode. You can find directions for how to do this here.
After starting in clean boot mode, reinstall system mechanic. After reinstalling, put the computer back in normal mode by undoing the steps you did earlier.
System mechanic should function correctly now.

If you currently have Anti-Virus / Firewall software from another company and you do not want to remove it, you need to tell System Mechanic that you do not want the Iolo Firewall and Iolo Anti-virus.
During the installation of System Mechanic, you will be shown a screen that asks what portions of the program you want to install. Uncheck the options for Iolo Anti-virus and Iolo Firewall.
If you do this, you will not be asked to remove anything and you can keep your previous Anti-virus/Firewall software.
