I love knitting, and more than anything I love free patterns that are awesome. When Knitty brought out their Deep Fall issue, I realized – I’ve never shared Knitty with all of you!
Knitty is an awesome, incredible, amazing online knitting magazine filled with patterns, techniques, and even spinning content! Established in 2002, Knitty brings the best bits of a knitting or spinning magazine to you online for free.
When you arrive at the site, you’ll be greeted by an image from the latest issue (a cute bolero/shrug in a leafy motif) as well as a navigation menu along the top. On the navigation menu you’ll find the sections:
>in this issue< – this is the latest issue. Here you’ll find the most recent patterns and articles. Clicking this will bring up a menu where you can select from the Patterns Index, Features Index, and much more! I always head right over to the patterns to see what will inspire me and then check out the features.
knitty spin – this is the section devoted to spinning. Check it out if you are interested in handspinning.
the pattern library – this is where you can find all the past issues. So if you’re brand new to Knitty never fear, you can still check out everything (even those awesome patterns) that have come before. When you click this navigation option, you’re give the choice to find patterns and features or to browse the back issues by cover.
get into knitty – want to contribute to or advertise in Knitty? Well this is where you’ll find all the information you need to do so!
about us – this where you can meet the staff, or check out the FAQ.
