Welcome to Language Museum site where you can find just about everything you need to know about languages. I think their intro sums it up pretty well so I will share it with you here.
“The Language Museum is a linguistic website which offers the samples of 2000 languages in the world. Every sample includes 4 parts: (1) a sample image, (2) an English translation, (3) the speaking countries and populations, (4) the language’s family and branch.”
To explore the site you just need to choose the first letter that the language of your interest starts with or just pick any old letter to begin. Then you find a huge listing of languages—many I’ve never even heard of.
Each example is very interesting and thorough. I think this is a precious resource—a database of languages. Each sample that I looked at was a decent paragraph long so you really get a feel for what the language looks like written. It even tells you which ones are now extinct languages.
Definitely a site worth talking about—in any language.
