Here’s another installment to add to your ever-growing list of keyboard shortcuts for MS Word.
Give these a whirl—they could come in very handy!
Justification Shorcuts:
- Ctrl + L left aligns the current paragraph.
- Ctrl + E center aligns the current paragraph.
- Ctrl + R right aligns the current paragraph.
- Ctrl + J fully justifies the current paragraph. (Where the text is spread out completely to both left and right margins.)
Formatting Shortcuts:
- Ctrl + B will bold either the highlighted text or the next text to be typed.
- Ctrl + I will Italicize the highlighted text or the next text to be typed.
- Ctrl + U will underline the highlighted text or the next text to be typed.
- Ctrl + Shift + D will double underline highlighted text or the next text to be typed.
- Ctrl + Shift + W will underline the highlighted text or the next text to be typed but not the spaces between the words.
- Ctrl + = will convert the highlighted text into subscript.
- Ctrl + plus sign (+) will convert the highlighted text into superscript.
Repeating the same key combination used to turn the formatting on can often turn off these formatting options. Ctrl + Spacebar may also turn a formatting option off.
Well, that should be quite enough to learn for now.
Happy formatting without Mickey (mouse)!
