I have a few basic commands that will open up Windows applications and I know there are more. I really would like more; do you have any kind of a list?

Hi Dean! Thanks for writing.

Do I have a list? Yes, sir, I do. And since you took the time to write to us, I sat down and went looking for more.

Just in case anyone reading this is new to this or needs a refresher course, there are commands that you can type into the Run line of Windows to access different programs and applications. (Huh? What does that mean? What’s a “Run line”? Explain, please!)

For those of you who don’t know how to access “Run”, click here for a quick tutorial. For Vista and Windows 7 users who have no run line to access, please click here.
to find out how to put the run line below your Startup menu.

Every Windows program or application (that is accessed from the Run line) from the the list in this article has to be accessed in the following way (the following screen shots were taken from Vista):

Left-click on Start, then left-click on Run.

When you click on Run, a box will pop up. There is a blank “line” in it; type the command in it (in the example below I have typed in iexplore to open Internet Explorer) and left-click on OK.

That’s how easy it is to open every single Windows application below.

So – without further ado – here is the mega-list of Run commands for 2010:
