With the end of support for Windows XP only a year away, Microsoft is encouraging businesses to upgrade now to a newer operating system by offering a 15% discount through their Get2Modern offer.
In a blog post on their website, the company said, “Moving away from Windows XP to a more modern platform in Windows 7 and Windows 8 will ready your IT infrastructure for future technology solutions and growth of your company.”
The post points out that organizations like BT PLC, Emirates Airlines, Seton Hall University and Toyotal Racing Development have recently moved from XP to Windows 7 and 8. It warns that businesses using XP are missing out on enhanced security and technology desined to meet the needs of a mobile workforce and will be leaving their systems vulnerable to security threats.
Small or medium-sized businesses currently running Windows XP Professional can upgrade to Windows 8 Pro at a discounted price through June 30. You can check out the offer here.
