Microsoft announced that it’s ready to reveal the next generation of Xbox on May 21 at a even it promises will reveal a new generation of gaming at an event on the company’s Xbox campus in Redmond Washington on May 21. They have a countdown clock to the big event posted on their website.
Rumors have been swirling about the new console, nicknamed Durango, for months and the company is promising that the reveal will be a taste of the future. Then, 19 days later Microsoft will be at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in Los Angeles to showcase their full line of games. There has been speculation that Microsoft will discontinue physical discs for games and switch to all downloads and also that the new model will require players to remain connected to the Internet at all times to play.
The event will be broadcast on Xbox.cm, Xbox Live and Spike TV in the US and Canada.
