It has been down right dismal here in Ohio and we are becoming firmly entrenched in what I call gray sky season. So, I was most happy to stumble across this link in my e-mail. I’m bringing you directly to my favorite on this site, but I’ll discuss Missouri Skies as well, so you’ll be able to check out the other neat stuff on the site.
This is an amazing photo of a rainbow. It was taken in Missouri this past February. There are seven pictures of the rainbow from different angles and some pictures of the tree itself. I have never in my life seen a rainbow this amazing. This is the kind of rainbow that inspires stories of there being a pot of gold on the other end. There is a lot of description as well and you can even learn more about rainbows by following the link provided by Wikipedia.
If you scroll down to the bottom of the page, you will find the link that takes you back to the main Missouri Skies page. You can also follow the links provided for more rainbow pictures.
On the main area of Missouri Skies, you will find links to the Photo Gallery, Bush Observatory, Recent Photos, Missouri Skies Weather Information Center and much more in the grids below those links.
Photo Gallery – Not satisfied with rainbows? Well, don’t you fear, you can also check out the photos of stuff in the sky. Whether it’s the Aurora Borealis, Comets or Weather Photos, I don’t think you will be disappointed. I know I wasn’t! The Sunrise/Sunset gallery was awesome as well.
Bush Observatory – Here you will find a lot of pictures of telescopes and the construction of the observatory. All in all, it’s pretty neat. Don’t forget to check out the pictures from the Great Plains Star Party too!
Recent Photos – Here you can find the most recent photos added to the site.
Missouri Skies Weather Information Center – Here you can find out the current weather in Missouri, as well as, take a gander at the information the site owner uses to plan his observation and photography sessions. It’s really interesting. I’d have never thought to plan photography sessions based on the weather.
Well, this site certainly kicked me out of the doldrums. No more gray sky sessions for me!
