As a college student, I often don’t have more than two nickels to rub together, so the idea of finding ways to save money, invest money, or just make things cost less without sacrificing a whole lot really appeals to me. And I thought considering the economic downturn, it might appeal to a whole lot of you too.
I’ll even be honest; I got to this site by looking for new ideas for homemade Christmas presents this year. I’m a crafty kind of girl, I like making things with my hands that are personal, but I’m sick of making the same old gifts every year (and I bet my family is sick of getting them)! For November they had 30 Days of Homemade Gifts, and I’ve gotten a ton of great ideas out of them, so be sure you check the archives for those posts!
I also really like this site because it addresses issues that I’ve noticed occurring in my own life. Right now it’s finals, I’m super stressed, and I don’t feel like cooking. That means that we’re eating out at least two or three times a week. Not only is that not conducive to lowering the stress I’ve been feeling, it’s eating away at my savings. They had an article that offers different strategies for cooking meals quickly and not eating out so much! That’s helpful information!
