MS Excel: Cells to a Table – No Mouse Required

By now we’ve all found the Format as Table button on the Home tab of the Ribbon will take a range of selected cells in turn them into an easily and beautifully formatted table.
However, if you’re not one for the mouse then I do have a solution for you.
Next time use the Shift key + arrows, Home, Ctrl, etc… (or a combination of them) to select the range of cells to be converted to table format.
Now try Ctrl + T or Ctrl + L.
Either one of these will open the Create Table dialog box where you’ll find the range of selected cells already entered into the data location field.
Click OK to confirm your decision and… BAM! You’ve got a table ready for editing, filtering and formatting.
