Are you forced to buy new apps to work in win 8? Can you use your old apps as in Win XP?
Well, Samuel that depends. It’s possible that some of your older programs may work with Windows 8 or 8.1. A great place to check is the Windows Compatibility Center. You can enter the name of an app and find out if it works with the newer OS.
I will also say that many of the apps you will want are included free on Windows 8.1 – Word processing in the form of WordPad, an e-mail client in the form of the Mail App, an image editor in the Photo App as well as in Paint. You’ll also find a variety of free games in the Windows store.
I think a lot of people forget that when XP came out, many of the programs that worked With Windows 3 and 95 no longer worked in XP. Thirteen years is a long time, especially in the computer world and, unfortunately, XP can’t handle the requirements of many newer programs.
