If you have a new PC, you’ll be pleased to know that there are a lot of great, free programs out there available for you to download. But finding the downloads and installing the programs individually can be a chore. And let’s not forget about those sneaky add-ons and toolbars that sometimes attach themselves to even the best free programs.
I’ve got a great, free solution for you. Check out Ninite.
Just go to their site and choose either Windows or Linux programs at the top of the page.
Then put a check beside the free programs you want.
You’ll see options for major web browsers, messaging programs, programs for zipping files and other great utilities like KeePass and even Steam gaming.
Under Media, you’ll have options like iTunes, Hulu, VLC and Audacity.
Creating and editing images, documents and PDFs should be easy with the range of free software available here.
There’s also a range of security software to choose from.
Once you select the programs you’d like to download, just click to get the installer.
Ninite will then install those programs. But it will do even more. It skips any extra toolbars or junk. It puts those apps in the usual default location. It is smart enough to install 64-bit apps on your 64-bit system.
For safety and security, Ninite only downloads and installs programs from the publisher of that program’s official site. Ninite will pick the latest and most stable version of that app. Best of all, it runs in the background, so you can go on about your business while the downloads happen.
There’s also a Ninite Pro version available for businesses.
