Anyone who has ever had to purchase ink cartridges, especially for laser printers, can tell you they are expensive. Now HP says they have a new toner formulation for their new line of printers that will help deliver 33% more pages per cartridge.
They say the secret is in the way the cartridges are made, the new toner forulation requires far less heat to melt and produce ink. Not, only do you save ink, but HP promises you could use 50% less energy to make those prints.
The LaserJet printer has been around for 30 years and HP says it has redesigned its products from the inside out to be “leaner, faster and smarter than ever before to help meet the demands of the modern office.”
These new printers also feature security features. They’ve included technology that identifies counterfeit ink cartridges as well as a system called Private Print that helps keep private print jobs confidential. Each job is kept queued in the cloud until the user verifies the job and claims it from the printer.
Additionally, there are mobile apps that will allow users to manage print jobs and print from tablets and phones.
If you’ve ever had the misfortune of getting toner all over yourself while trying to swap out a cartridge, you’ll probably appreciate the new auto seal removal that promised to make cartridge installation just a little bit easier.
The three new printers that feature the new and improves cartridge are the HP Color LaserJet Pro M252, Color LaserJet Pro MFP M277 and LasterJet Enterprise M552 and M553. The M252 is the smallest of three and would probably appeal most to smaller businesses and individuals. No price information is available yet.
