Is anything new going on with Opera or SeaMonkey these days? I’m just curious to know!
Oooh, good question! It just so happens there is a lot going on with both of those programs these days, so it’s a good thing you asked. If you’re an avid Opera Web browser or SeaMonkey user, please read on. I think you’re really going to like what I have to tell you today!
Let’s start with all of you Opera users out there! As you know, the Opera team released a new version (v9.5) back in June 2008. And even though it’s been less than a month, they are at it again! Yep, on July 3, 2008, Opera 9.51 was released and it is now available for download. Now, I know you’re probably thinking not much could have changed that quickly, but the new version is a recommended security and stability upgrade.
Opera changed a lot of their features for version 9.5 and this one is just there to keep you as updated and secure as possible. Things are always changing in the world of Web browsers and I have to say, Opera does a really good job of keeping its users in the loop. So, if you haven’t done so already and you would like to download Opera 9.51, you can do so right here. Simply select your language and download location and then click on the big green Download Opera button. Then just follow the directions and you’ll be all set!
Now, let’s move on to the all-in-one Internet suite of SeaMonkey! If you’ve been using SeaMonkey for awhile now, you know it has been quite some time since they released a new version. Well, your wait is now over! On July 2, 2008, SeaMonkey 1.1.10 was released to the public and it is now available for download. The new version fixes several security vulnerabilities found in previous versions. It also takes care of other various found issues.
There are quite a few issues, so I won’t go over all of them in the newsletter, but if you’d like to see a complete list of everything that was fixed for version 1.1.10, you can do so here. On that Web site, you can also see how everything has changed since SeaMonkey was first released. If you haven’t already done so and you’d like to download SeaMonkey 1.1.10, you can get it right here. Just click on the link for your operating system and follow the instructions. You’ll be up and running with the new SeaMonkey in no time!
I hope that answers your question about what’s been going on lately with both Opera and SeaMonkey. It’s all very exciting, so I hope you enjoy the new versions of your favorite programs!
