Straight to Print
What if you come across a picture on a web page that you want to print, but not save? With Internet Explorer just right-click the image and select "Print Picture".
With Firefox you need to right-click and choose "View Image" to bring the picture up in its own window, then you can print the page.
There you go! Printing without saving!

Just right-click an area on your desktop and choose
"Properties". Select "Desktop"
and you'll find a list of images to use for wallpaper. Click the
background you want from the list and it will appear in the preview
screen. You can choose to Center, Tile, or Stretch the image to fit
the screen.
Vista
users: Right click the desktop and choose
"Personalize", and then choose
"Desktop Background". There's a
drop down box which will allow you to pick from any number of
colors, Windows stock wallpapers and also ones you have saved to
your hard disk. Just make sure you remember where you downloaded
these images to!

The Old "Switcharoo"
Okay, so, you're in
MS Excel and you've got a piece of data. You're about to use the fill
handle to get Excel to copy and paste the data down the column.
That's a good idea
and as we all know, just dragging the fill handle will copy the data item
exactly into all the other cells. But, if we also hold down the Ctrl key
while we use the fill handle, Excel will continue the data pattern.
At this point, I must
ask: Have you tried this with dates, months or days of the week?
If you have, you've
probably noticed that the rules have been switched. No, you're not crazy!
Excel doesn't behave the same with this type of data as it does with numbers.
In fact, Excel behaves
with the exact opposite behavior - here's Excel's rules for dates, months
or days of the week:
Simply using the
fill handle will prompt Excel to fill the data by continuing
the list.
So, if you want
an exact copy, you've got to add the Ctrl key to your fill
handle work.
Yep, that's right.
The fill handle works different for different types of data. Now all you
have to do is remember which one is which!

What's got me so excited about this software is that it can actually move programs from one PC to another. Moving files is easy (just use a CD or flash drive), but moving software is always a problem.
First off, trying to move most programs by yourself is all but impossible. Sure, the main program might be under your Program Files folder, but during setup, it probably installed lots of DLL files under your Windows System directory, registered those same files with Windows, maybe it placed shortcuts, added startup items, dropped in templates - well, you get the idea. When most software is installed, you get components and pieces of the software scattered all over your hard drive. Manually finding every part and putting it back on a new computer, placed where it should be and registered with Windows is almost impossible.
Of course, you could sit in front of your computer for hours on end reinstalling all the software that was on your old PC, but talk about a hassle. Finding all the CDs, locating all the serial numbers, downloading updates and sitting around all day just isn't my idea of fun. Besides, I know for a fact that I personally have several programs on my computer right now where the original install CD has been lost! If you fall into that same category, then this software not only saves you tons of time and frustration, but tons of money as well! We took the software for a spin just to see if it works as advertised.
 Also, we just found out this is the ONLY program on the planet that can move software from Windows XP or Vista to the upcoming Windows 7 operating system! If you're planning on a shiny new Windows 7 computer ANYTIME down the road, you'll need THIS to transfer all your programs and files!

Our Test Results - WOW!!!
April, our MS Office Tips writer, just purchased a new PC. Unfortunately, she had tons of programs on her old computer - many of which she simply couldn't find the CDs for or that had been downloaded years ago. She was looking at literally hundreds of dollars in new software to replace those CDs. So, I told her I needed to test this new software and she enthusiastically decided to give it a try.
First off, we were very impressed that the whole process is "wizard" driven. You don't really need to know much more than how to click your mouse in order to make this software work!
The first step was to install the software on both PCs - easy enough. Then you attach them with the included USB link cable (just plug it into each PCs USB port). Again, so far, so good.
At this point, we were ready for some decisions. First you have the option to exclude files - say you don't want it to transfer ".Tiff" files for some reason. Just tell the software not to transfer those We wanted all the data files, so we left this alone. Then it asks you what folders you want to transfer over. This is mostly for your data files, so we left the checkmarks in for all the folders that had data.
Next, and this was the way-cool part, the software scans the old computer and finds ALL the software that has been installed. It gives you a list with little check boxes so you can select only the programs you want to transfer to the new machine! Now that's slick! I don't know about you, but I have loads of programs on my PC that I never use but haven't bothered to uninstall, so being able to select only the programs I want to transfer is great! April found she only needed about half of the stuff she had on her old computer transferred, so she unchecked everything else. Oh, and it even tells you when you already have the same software on your new PC (this program will not overwrite existing files, so you don't need to worry about data loss).
After all the selecting is done, you simply leave the computer to do its thing. The software will transfer all your files and programs automatically! Depending on how fast your computers are, and how much data you're moving, this can take some time. So, I recommend doing this before you go to bed. When you wake up in the morning, your new computer will be all set to go with all your old software and files on it! That's what we did with April's, and it was just awesome how well it worked. All the programs that we transferred worked perfectly on the new computer - no problems at all - not one, zilch. This software really does the job!! It's awesome!
I'm planning on a new Windows 7 PC pretty soon, but I've been dreading all the reinstalls that go with it. My current PC is something like 5 years old, so I have a HUGE amount of software and data on it. It would take me weeks to get a new PC to the way I like it. With this software, I'll be able to do it a half hour before I go to bed! I love it!!

One feature that I thought was really great is something called, the "X-Ray Viewer"! This lets you see different layers of the body at the same time. Here's a screen shot I took of one of the slides. Sorry the screen shot isn't better, but the graphics in this program are so detailed it's tough to show it with a small screen shot!
Anyway, I brought up one of the illustrations, which was the muscle system. Then I clicked on the "X-Ray viewer", which has a "slider handle" that you just click on and drag up and down. Wherever you have the slide it shows an "X-Ray" view of the part of the body that you have the slider over! So you can look at one illustration, click on the X-Ray viewer and slide it down and now you can see what's "below" the body system you're viewing! I was looking at the muscular system and right around the neck level I clicked on the "X-Ray viewer". So at that point it shows the circulatory system just below where I clicked! Very cool!!!
Here's another feature I liked called, "Virtual Reality" technology lets you move specific anatomical models to view them from a a variety of angles and perspectives. This is one of the 3-D models. Right below the model there's a section with some text that are detailed illustrations you can click on. (Again, I had to make these screen shots small so that I could include them here. The actual photos you see on the program are MUCH larger!) So you can click on an area of the diagram and you quickly zoom-in and get a "close up" view! If you double-click on an area of the photo, it'll bring up a page of text that gives you detailed information about what you're viewing!.
Plus you can click on a navigation arrow and now see the same section of the body from the side. Click again and now you see if from another angle! Cool, heh?
There's just so much to this program and so many features, I can't list them all. Hopefully this will give you a taste of why I like this so much! Method of use:
Seadragon.com allows you to share any image on the web as zoomable photo. As seen in the above image you can enter the url of the image that is stored anywhere on the web and click on the create button. In no time flat you have got the zoomable viewer with four option buttons to enlarge or compress the image as seen above. You can now share this link on to your Facebook, Twitter, or email and also directly embed them on your blog. Once the image is embedded on the pan as above you can click on the image to zoom in, use the mouse wheel to zoom in and out, and also drag it to pan around. The image to be embedded can be of any megapixel size. The viewer that is embedded adjusts dynamically to the layout of the page. A few sample images are also displayed on the sides.
Modes of view:
The different modes are Seadragon Ajax, Seadragon, Mobile and Silverlight Deep Zoom.
1. Seadragon Ajax:
We would like to see the image closer, to get a good look at the texture of a sculpture. Seadragon Ajax enables the same as can be seen from the below pictures. Seadragon Ajax brings Deep Zoom technology right on to your web page or blog even if you are not a software developer. It enables you to smoothly zoom into extreme close-ups of your images, regardless of the size of the screen or bandwidth of the network you are using.
2. Seadragon Mobile:
Image browsing goes on from PC to Mobile. The same smooth browsing and super-close view of either a map or photo is available on Mobile phones also, with just a few taps or pinches of your finger. You can also browse a collection of photos from a single screen.

This is more similar to Seadragon Ajax except the fact that we use Silverlight for Deep Zoom.
In Ajax the framerate is slower. In Silverlight the image also blends with the viewer and there is direct bitmap manipulation. Moreover we can also put the images in a gallery as a collection.

Photographing pets
A pet has a very special and important place in a family’s home. Many of them have their photos framed and placed either on the desk or wall. However, taking a picture of the family pet isn’t always easy, as they do not understand the art of posing for the camera. Given below are a few tried and tested tips to help conduct a smooth pet photography session.
But first things first, it is essential that the pet is made to feel comfortable and is at ease. Do not force them to come towards the photographer and get down to his level. We all know how a dog looks when viewed from above, this is the way we always see them. The photograph should show us the way they see the world. The photographer should either sit on the floor or lie on the belly and most importantly shoot from eye level or below.
1. Character: A successful picture is one that captures and conveys the character of the pet and is easy to get as one knows their pet best. For example, a lazy cat should be photographed while he is yawning, or if it has a playful nature, shoot a picture while he is performing his favorite trick.
2. Natural Lighting: When taking a picture of a pet use natural light to the maximum. A flash burst will not only cause ‘red eyes’ but may also frighten the animal, so it is best to avoid using the flash. Try to use the outdoors or if it is not possible, do so in a well lit room or by a large window.
3. “Eyes are the Window to the Soul”: It is important to have sharp eyes in any kind of portrait photography and pets have very expressive eyes. Make sure to focus on the pets eyes.
4. Go Macro: Using a long lens fill the frame with the face and fur. Close up shots often make for beautiful animal portraits.
5. Surprise: Getting a pet to hold still for a photo shoot can be difficult, so let him play quietly till all the camera equipment is in place. Let somebody surprise him by calling out his name and once his attention is caught, it will take only a few seconds to capture him in a sharp and alert pose.
6. Formal Pet Portrait: For a formal portrait shot, schedule the session when the animal is slightly sleepy or has just woken up. It is much easier to hold him still. For a more dynamic shot, pick a time when the pet is at his energetic best. If the pet is ill or under the weather it would be wise to reschedule the session.
7. Experiment: A pet photography session should be enjoyed as it takes time to get the right shot. Try different approaches, angles and compositions and shoot a lot so that there is variety to choose from later.
8. Patience: Pet photography requires a lot of patience. These furry friends are very excitable and with patience he will relax giving the photographer the opportunity to get a good shot.
9: Take pictures in RAW: It is often very hard to meter the fur. When the subject happens to be a white dog, shoot in manual mode and then over expose by 2/3 of a stop. Since the meter makes everything 80% gray, over exposure will get their fur white. One can also expose according to the meter but remember to dial in a 2/3 stop exposure compensation. Take the pictures in RAW, only if the subject is a solid-color animal. It is quite difficult to get good exposure of a completely black dog, but with RAW the detail of his fur can be recovered during post production. If there are guinea pigs, loud noises and the camera flash will tick them off. Once it is warm enough outside, try taking them (or the rabbit) into the backyard (one at a time, to keep track of them). The outdoors will make them settle down on the grass and the natural light will cut down on using the flash. Be really careful if you are in an area where there are flying predators though.
10. And finally: It is better to know beforehand the pets’ reaction to having their photo taken. If there are two cats, then the one that doesn’t like to have her picture taken will run away. In such a case, use a lot of zoom besides stealth and cunning. Always let the pet sniff the camera so that they are comfortable and don’t feel threatened by either the camera or the photographer. Let the pet be a bit hungry as they will respond better to a treat on top of the lens or from your other hand. This method works wonders in the case of food motivated dogs. What won’t work are too many distractions and excessive name calling as this makes the pet recoil. For those who want to take pictures of young cats or kittens, play with them until they are tired. Make sure to use a number of different teasers. Some cats prefer furry toys, others like ropy things and or feathery things. Then feed them and wait till they are sleepy. This works especially for a group photo. When working with animals, make sure to choose a workplace where they can’t hurt themselves when they try to jump off or escape. Forcing a pet to be photographed will either hurt the animal or ruin the picture.
