Here's a quick shortcut for anyone who's found themselves acting like a telegraph operator on their backspace key. You know what I'm talking about. You've just finished a line of text, it doesn't look right, so you want to delete the whole line. “Ratta-tatta-ratta-ratta”, and your finger falls off... There's a better way! Simply put your cursor at the beginning of the line you want to delete and press Shift+End. This will cause the whole line to be selected, and all you have to do after that is press delete or backspace to finish the job! The best part is that because your cursor is already at the beginning of the line, all you have to do is type! Deletion, simplified! ~Andrew Shift your way of deleting stuff! Being a poor grad student, I couldn't fork out $50.00+ for expensive language software. Thank goodness, there are programs like this one!
Take it from me, 33 Languages Deluxe 2.0 is the quickest and most effective way to learn a language - hands down!! Well, this program has tutorials with native speakers teaching you the ins and outs of the foreign tongue, immersing you in the language without having to travel! I am tellin' ya, there is nothing better than learning from someone who speaks this language on a daily basis. Plus, this program doesn't require you to memorize vocabulary. Instead, you learn the words through listening, speaking, and repeating! Don’t have time to sit at your computer? No need to worry! With this program you can download audio files to your mp3 or iPod and listen to them on the go! Don’t have an mp3 player or an iPod? What is really neat with this method is you compare your voice with a native speaker of any language!! First you listen to how a native speaker sounds and then you record your own voice into the program. You can then listen to how and if your voice matches the native speaker's. There is not another language program out there that provides such extensive knowledge of 33 different languages!! You can learn any language from French and Spanish to Hebrew and Zulu just by Listening, Repeating, and playing fun computer games!!!

It's getting to the point where Internet Explorer does Web searches all by itself. Almost. You probably already know that you can search the Web from the search box, and even from the web page with Accelerators. Now you can search from the URL Address bar. Open up Internet Explorer 8 and press Alt-D to enter text in the Address bar. But instead of entering a URL, type "? canoodle," and then press Enter. Internet Explorer will call up your default search provider to hunt down the Web's top "canoodle" references -- just as if you'd done the search from the search box. (You can pick your own search term; I just like "canoodle.") Figure 1: Search with the Address bar
If you don't want to search from the current tab, press Alt-Enter instead of Enter after you enter your search term (i.e. "canoodle" ). IE will open up a new tab to show the search results. Another option for doing the search from the Address bar is to type "Go canoodle," or "Find canoodle," instead of using the question mark. Go ahead, type those extra characters, but I'm sticking with the quicker question mark. ~Darrin Koltow Okay, so maybe not exactly to "your life," but would you settle for a little color added to your Excel worksheet tabs? Yes? Good! Now of course, I've got to mention one small catch. This one wasn't in Excel 97 or 2000. It seems to be an additional feature in the newer versions... and yes, that does include Excel 2007. So, here's the deal.
You can now turn this: It's an incredibly quick and easy way to color code your worksheet tabs or maybe to even simply make the most frequently used tabs stand out from the rest. Whatever reason just popped into your mind, it's a great tool for organizing your files. So, let's get to the "how to!" The tab color is just one click away. That is, one right-click. Right-click over
the tab that needs a color change. Poof! The tab color is set. You will find that while the sheet is selected, the color will only show as an underline below the sheet name. Once you select a different sheet though, the entire tab will be displayed in color. Looking to remove the color completely? No problem. Right-click on the tab again, select Tab Color and choose No Color / None. Click OK if your version of Excel requires it. There you have it.

Attention Digital Photographers! FINALLY - An Easy Way To... Organize, Edit, Email, And Print Your Photos!! On Sale TODAY ONLY(11-12-2009) Just $8.97!! WOW!! A Must Read: OK, you have a digital camera. Let me guess - you have a ton of photos all over your hard drive, right? That's what I thought :-) Wouldn't it be great if there were a way to keep all those images organized, easy to work with, and simple to share? Great news - we found a new program every digital photographer is going to want. It's called Personal ImageManger Express and it's just awesome! I can tell you it's going to make my digital life a lot easier - read on!
First off, it's really easy (dare I say even fun) to use. It can acquire photos from your hard drive, digital camera, scanner, whatever. From there, you can quickly organize all your photos into easy to manage categories. You can even create categories across numerous folders. In fact, you can even put the same photo in multiple categories if you like (very handy). However, image management is just the beginning with this one! It also features an excellent photo editor that includes all the major tools you need. This thing just blew me away! It can easily do stuff like color balance, contrast, brightness, hue, cropping, red-eye removal, even special effects! Plus, it has an awesome "one-button enhance" tool that does a great job at automatically making your images look their very best! You may never use your old imaging software again!
And then it gets even better! This program also has an awesome captioning feature. You can add a regular caption at the bottom (or top, side etc) to a photo or you can place a caption in the image itself (see site for a screen shot). And get this - these captions are searchable by the program! Excellent tool!
As if all that weren't enough, you can also add "picture frames" to photos with the click of a button, as well as photographer info, dates, shapes, clipart and more! Even rate your own photos and search by rating! And there's still more to tell! This also makes it really easy to share photos by e-mail! One of the biggest problems people run into when they want to e-mail a photo is the photos are just too big - usually way too big. They take forever to send, forever to download, and are hard for the recipient to see. This little gem will resize any image for e-mail with the click of a button (the original image stays intact, of course). In fact, if you use an e-mail client on your computer (like Outlook Express, Thunderbird, Eudora, etc), it will resize your image and automatically put it in a new message for you! Just put in the address, fill in a subject, and send - it couldn't be easier. Even if you already know how to resize for e-mail, this will do it with a lot more speed and a lot less hassle. OK, I gotta tell you about the printing and I'll stop :-) If you print your images you know that getting them to the proper size for 4x6, 5x7, or 8x10 can be a pain. Well, this does it automatically for you! Cool huh? Alright, I think you get the idea - this is one program every digital photographer should be using and I've only touched on a portion of what it can do! It's easy to work with, loaded with tons of useful features, and the price is right - it's on sale TODAY ONLY (11-12-2009) for just $8.97 and US shipping is FREE! It's an amazing deal, check it out: http://store.worldstart.com/ PS - If you take digital photos, you owe it to yourself to try this. It'll make your photos fun to work with, keep you organized, and it makes printing something you'll actually want to do!
Did you know that Windows XP and Vista keep a record of all the files you have saved on your hard disk? Why do they do this? Well, it's basically used for when you do a search for a particular file or folder on your hard drive. Since they both remember everything you have, it makes this process go much faster. On the other hand though, there is a downside to this. Because your computer has to index all of the files you have stored on your hard drive, it slows things way down when just trying to find that particular one you're looking for. It will drag out the normal file commands, such as opening and closing as well. So, if you don't usually search for files on your hard drive in this way, I suggest turning the indexing feature off. It will speed things up so much for you. Here’s how you do it. For Windows XP: 1.Click on Start, Control Panel. (Note: You must be in the classic Control Panel view for this tip to work). 2.Double click Administrative Tools.
3.Double click Services.
4.Double click Indexing Services.
5.Click on Stop and then click OK.
For Windows Vista: Almost the exact same process here, only instead of "indexing Services" you'll look for "Windows Search". Stop that service and enjoy increased search speeds within Windows!
Once you have the Indexing or Search option stopped, your computer will be able to find any of the files or folders you want to access much quicker. Everything will just work so much faster and you and I both know, you can't beat that! Enjoy! ~ Shantala
