Quick Tip

iPad – On Second Thought, Don’t Close That!

So you’re browsing Facebook, and decide, “Oh, well, time to hit the sheets…” . Just tap the big ol’ button to close, right? Nothing complicated – just “click” and you’re done.

But did you know that if you change your mind mid-press and hold the button for just a little bit longer it cancels the closure?

It’s true! Just hold for a couple seconds longer and release – you’ll stay in the app!

It’s a perfect tip for those time where you remember just “one more thing” you needed to do.

Give it a try sometime!

Your electronics and equipment are valuable. That's why they call them VALUABLES! And that’s why the other guy wants them!

You Need a Deterrent! And We Have It...

If a thief sees this on your stuff - and if he were smart - he would think twice before acting!

If he wasn't too bright, when he did act, the surprise alarm would draw a lot of unwanted attention his way!

This device has SO MANY COOL FEATURES we had to provide this short video to highlight all of them for you! Take a look...

I mean, just look at this device. It’s bright yellow and black design screams like a yield sign to a thief and will certainly his get attention just by setting there. And getting his attention is the first step in deterring a thief! Its rough and tough construction is obvious as soon as you handle it. THIS IS A SERIOUS SECURITY DEVICE!

FEATURES? Oh yeah, this device has features alright!

For starters, it has a FOUR FOOT STEEL CABLE! That means you could strap this device securely around a pretty big object like some of your luggage or sporting gear!

The cable is RETRACTABLE at the press of a button!

And did you see that word STEEL? This is not some flimsy strap. It IS steel, so it won’t be cut easily. Even if it were severed - guess what? THE ALARM GOES OFF!

YES, this unit will set off a definite, attention-getting alarm! A 110dB Alarm! Trust me, it’s loud, and you, or people around your stuff, will definately notice!

This alarm not only goes off if the cable is cut – it is also MOTION SENSITIVE! How does that help? Well if they just grab your things and run without bothering to cut the cable, the alarm sounds. Moving the unit just a few inches will set it off!

Anyone stealing something with this device attached will get no further than a step or two away before getting noticed!

Now Hold On! HERE'S AN EVEN COOLER FEATURE! Because it's motion sensitive, you don’t even really have to strap in onto your stuff! That's Right! YOU CAN JUST SET THE ALARM ON TOP OF YOUR THINGS! If they move your stuff, or the alarm ITSELF – COVER YOUR EARS! The Alarm is Sounding!

On the top of the unit is a THREE DIGIT COMBINATION LOCK! And you get to set your own code! Cool! But it keeps getting EVEN COOLER! The lock is obviously for setting up the unit and its alarm. But a thinking thief might try to gently disconnect the batteries! That would be his last mistake! Your code LOCKS THE BATTERY CASE TOO!  REALLY!

At a glance, this lock may appear to be a standard cable lock. But would-be thieves will be quite surprised when the smallest movement of it triggers the piercing alarm!

I don’t know why more people don’t have this! You can protect your laptop, your cell phone, your luggage or briefcase! Use it as your bicycle lock! You can even protect some of that expensive sporting equipment!

Of course we all wish we didn’t have to watch our stuff so closely in today's world, but here’s a device that can be your extra pair of eyes!

Now look at this price! $14.97!

How ridiculously low is that for this outstanding security device? This price is a steal! Of a security device, no less!

Windows Taskbar Options

I’m sure we’ve got a few different tips that show you all the stuff you can do to your Windows Task Bar, but I wanted to get them all in one place for convenience.

So, right-click a blank area of your taskbar and select Properties. In the resulting window, make sure the “Taskbar” tab is selected.

Under Taskbar appearance you’ll see:

Lock the taskbar – Obviously named. If this is selected, you cannot re-size or move your taskbar. This is perfect for folks who find their taskbar on top of their screen one day and can’t remember why.

Auto-hide the taskbar – Great for the neat-freak who wants a perfectly blank desktop. Select Auto-hide and your taskbar with peek-a-boo when you mouse-over the bottom portion of the screen.

Use small icons – If you think the icons on your taskbar are too big, then select this option.

Depending on which version of Windows you have, there may also be an option to relocate your taskbar on the screen (you can also click, hold and drag your taskbar to a different place, too!) as well as a drop-down box to set whether or not open taskbar buttons combine when more than one instance of the program is open.

I hope this enlightens you on all the things you can do with your Windows Taskbar!

On The Move

The All-New Features of Android ICS 4.0.4

Android users get anxious and excited whenever a newer firmware calls itself to attention,  and ICS 4.0.4 version is no exception, either. Before you wait it out and finally install this version, here are some of the features you can make the most of. If you have already installed, make sure you know what you are holding in your hands.

Happy app-ing!

Screen rotation:If you have enabled screen rotation on your phone, the new version makes it seem like a dream by being almost fluidic. There is no lag, as in the previous version. However, you have to be at a certain angle for it to move from portrait to landscape. This is to avoid accidental rotations. Smart.

Today's Feature

I’ve Always Wanted To Know:
What’s the difference between optical and laser mice?

Computer mice used to come in one simple design, a mouse ball that when rolled measured distance and moved your cursor on screen accordingly. Today mice come in a two different types and people are often confused by the difference between optical and laser mice. The first important thing to understand is when someone refers to optical or laser they are talking about how the mouse detects when you move it not how it is connected to your computer. Optical and laser mice can be connected either through USB cables or wireless adapters and just because a mouse is an optical or a laser will not tell you if it’s wired or wireless.

Big Sable Lighthouse At Twilight

Finally got it! This shot was literally 2 years, 5 hikes, and two separate trips in the making – but I was finally - finally - able to pull it off June 2012! My son Grant and I had been to Ludington State Park the year before and stayed several days in an attempt to get a good shot of the Big Sable Lighthouse – and we failed. Every evening we’d ...(More)

Roaring Fork Rush

This image was captured on a trip to the Smoky Mountains that featured a LOT of excess water. Normally, Roaring Fork isn’t all that robust, but this time is was really flowing with some serious enthusiasm. So, we started hiking upstream looking for compositions.
