Oftentimes people will use a single, all-inclusive presentation for multiple purposes by simply hiding slides when they don’t apply to current needs.
However, it’s possible that when you go to print handouts for your audience, you’re finding that all those hidden slides that you’re not even going to show them are in the handouts.
Not the output you were looking to create.
The question as to how to prevent this is an obvious one, and I’m happy to say that it isn’t a difficult answer.
So, next time you are in this situation all you need to do is to make one small adjustment before you hit the OK button in the Print dialog box.
As indicated, we start in the Print dialog box. (File menu / Print -or- Ctrl + P)
After you make your usual choices, be sure to click the Options button in the bottom left corner.
When the Printer Options dialog opens, be sure to uncheck the setting to print hidden pages.
Click OK to return to the Print dialog box.
Proceed as usual.
That’s all there is to it… handouts that only include the information you intend to present with only 3 extra clicks.
